Sunday at Emmanuel
This is a quiet said service in accessible modern language. The timing is designed for those who are going to be out and about on Sunday and who want to make their communion first.
Communion means receiving a blessing or taking bread and wine in a re-enactiment of the Last Supper which Jesus took with his disciples the evening he was taken prisoner before his crucifiction.
Speak to the Reverend Peter Galloway, our Vicar, or Emma Smith, the Reader of Emmanuel, if you would like to know more about the Christian Faith. They will be glad to answer your questions.
Sunday 10 am Family Service and Sung Eucharist
The main service on a Sunday is the 10am Sung Eucharist. This is the principal act of worship on Sunday and lasts for about one hour. As its name implies music is an integral part of the service. Come and join us and find out what its all about. We welcome everyone. You are especially welcome if you want to meet a lively congregation and get to know people over refreshments afterwards.
A Family Eucharist is held on the First Sunday of each month. Everyone including the children who would normally be in Sunday School attends. On all the other Sundays during term time ( with exception of half term) Sunday School is available during the 10am service.
Babies and young children can use the books and cushions in the carpeted creche facility at the west end of the North aisle of the Church but they remain the responsibility of their parents.
Ask the people on the door about anything you wish to know they will be able to help you or point out someone who can answer your query.
During term time the Children and staff of Emmanuel Church of England School, West Hampstead attend a School Eucharist generally held on Thursday Morning at 9 am each week during term time.
You are welcome to attend this service. But do look at the Events Diary as service dates and times vary.
